I really like this one. A sort of Betty Page inspired bit. I wanted to keep her shadows as hints to her form, but make it all about the dress and shoes.
Concept I did for one of the Same Brain projects
This was on my mind for many years and I finally painted it up. It's based on a real thing that I saw while I lived in Arizona. I always wonder what that dude was so afraid of.
Fun sketch I did one afternoon
Based on something I saw driving up the PCH
One of the many pin up girls I like painting.
This is one of the first paintings I'm really pleased with the outcome. I used more traditional oil paint techniques digitally. Painted completely in Sketchbook Pro
Painted this on a road trip. Sketchbook Pro
First piece I completed using more "traditional" digital brushes. I went more abstract with this one. Painted in Sketchbook Pro
I was inspired by rock art down in Ventura on the board walk. I was going for a more brush stroked look with this one. Painted entirely in Sketchbook Pro
Part of my original 2016 Calendar collection
Part of my original 2016 Calendar collection
This is one of the Pinup Girls I did for my 2016 calendar. This was done in Sketchbook Pro with some adjustments made in Photoshop and Light Room.
This is another one of my favorites from the Pinup Calendar. She was inspired by the Pixies song of the same title. In hindsight, I should have added the comb in her pocket. Painted in Sketchbook Pro with finish work done in Photoshop and Light Room
One of my favorites from my Pinup series for the 2016 Calendar. Almost all the work was done in Sketchbook Pro with some finessing in Photoshop and Light Room
Went a little more stylized in this Illustrator drawing. Did the finishing in Photoshop
Painted in a mix of Photoshop and Sketchbook Pro
This was the pinup drawing I did that inspired me to make a calendar. I liked painting her so much I just wanted to do more pinups.
I've always been a whale and dolphin lover. After watching "Blackfish" I felt like putting Tillicum in what I imagine the setting he desired most, to be free in the ocean. Painted in Photoshop
This was an early concept test for a screen play I have been working on called "The Horrible". It was done in Maya, with texture support in Photoshop and final composition done in Nuke
This started with a trip to the Natural History Museum in LA. The dinosaur skeleton inspired me to paint this struggle between modern man and our intertwined ancestral heritage. Originally started in Sketchbook Mobile, I reworked and finished the work in Photoshop and Sketchbook Pro.
African Grays are my favorite of the parrots. I did this in Sketchbook Mobile on a Toshiba Thrive tablet.
I had surgery. Sketchbook Mobile on Toshiba Thrive tablet.
I felt like paying homage to a great physicist, Enrico Fermi. I painted this in Sketchbook Mobile
A piece I did for The Bleeding Heart Revival before it was a complete band. Painted this in Photoshop.
Inspired by the translucent skin of my guppies. I could see their retinas and brains through their skin and it inspired this more stylized painting. Done completely in Photoshop
This started out as me painting the girls at random intervals on my phone using Sketchbook Mobile. Later I put them all together in Photoshop and arranged the rest of the painting. That explains some of the random quality and paint style differences. It was done over many months.
I love the contrast of orange and blue and felt like painting this abstract clash of colors. Acrylic on canvas.
Another Oil Painting I did trying to depict a tornado in Oklahoma
One of the first Oil Paintings I did. The stars are loosely correct to their constellations, and I liked doing the faces and forms as the island.
